SSS Mita Topalovich Choir, 2003
The Serbian Singing Federation Choir, Mita Topalovich of Joliet, Illinois was founded in 1935 by the parish priest Father Milosavljevich who with his musical ability began this vital church organization.
The choir has remained an integral and active part of our church regardless of its membership size.  The late thirties and the forties resulted in times of inactivity.  However, with the encouragement of Very Reverend Stevan  Prostran, and his profound love for liturgical and secular music, impeccable talent, and his inspiration to those who sought the same, the choir was re-inducted into the SSF in 1958 and remain participants in concerts, festivals, conventions and of course responses in our beloved St. George Church for Holy Liturgy, and all other obligations.
Our choir humbly acknowledges the efforts of their directors through the years...Father Kozomora, Father Prostran, Danica Belfield, Dolly Book, Joe Enich, Jr., Paul Bjekich, Kimball Mancke, Sophie Anderson, Mary Lou Suitca, and Alexandra Starcevich.  Ko pjeva, zlo ne misli...He who sings thinks no evil!
