The Circle of Serbian Sisters of St. George Church in Joliet, Illinois was chartered in March, 1930 In 2005 the seventy-fifth anniversary was marked with Holy Liturgy and a festal banquet following; His Eminence Christopher served along with Fr. Nedeljko Lunich served. Mildred "Mimi" Dejanovich was chosen as our honored Kuma.
Our Circle of Serbian Sisters observes their anniversary every year and honor our Slava in August. We choose the Sunday closest to our Slava to celebrate. We hold a Chicken Dinner/Bake sale in November. Our ladies do a fantastic job in preparation and service.
As we are the 'right hand of the Church' we assist where necessary and take care of the needs of the parish home. We hold monthly meetings as is necessary; these meetings are held after Church. We support the endeavors of the Federation of Circles of Serbian Sisters and the Camp Program.
We invite you to join us in membership. No one is too young or too old to become a member. We are women that join each other to help whenever there is a need.
Current officers are Sophie Anderson, Delores Malinovich, Chris Book and Anka Laketa
