The St. George Tamburasi of Joliet was initiated and organized by Nancy Cora, President of the St. George Cultural Club in January 2005.  Under the direction and instruction of Dennis Barunica of Gary, Indiana, our group began with 8 members who ranged in age from 8 to 14 years old.  Over the years, some of the original members lost interest, while new members joined the group.  In 2009, our group took on the name of Veselo Selo, which means “Cheerful Village”, and they produced their first CD under that name.  The group is currently under the direction of Dragan "Dan" Zubic.
